In the UK this would be illegal but for special authorisation. The site is NOT large enough for a solid central island and needs this stand-alone truck apron (which is what a mini-roundabout is) to perform safely.
There is a case for extending the splitter islands with overrun areas to enforce the required movements for light vehicles.
